Tart, savory green salad with pear, walnuts, and crumbled bleu cheese. Dress to taste. You may decide not to use all the dressing.
If you don't use all the dressing it can be kept tightly sealed in the refridgerator for at least a week. Bring to room temperaure to use.
Pear & Bleu Cheese Green Salad
Ingredients
- FOR SALAD
- 1 Bartell pear, sliced
- 3/4 c. crumbled bleu cheese
- 3/4 c. walnut halves, toasted
- 8 large Romaine leaves, torn or equal amount of baby romaine
- FOR DRESSING:
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1/4 c. cider vinegar
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 5 large basil leaves, minced
- 1 t. salt
- 1 T honey
Directions
Tear the lettuce leaves and mix together with pear, cheese, and walnuts in a large bowl. In a jar or small bowl, whisk together the dressing ingredients. Pour over salad and toss.
