Beef Roast
Ingredients
- 2 lb beef roast
- 1 can beef broth, 14 ounces
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp basil
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 1/2 tsp rosemary
- 1 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1 bay leaves
- Water
Directions
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a skillet, or large Dutch oven, brown each side of the roast. Place the roast in a large Dutch oven or heavy pot. Add the broth, herbs and enough water that the roast is almost covered. Cover the Dutch oven and cook for about 3 1/2 hours, turning halfway through cooking. The meat should be fork tender. You can add potatoes and carrots and cook with the roast if desired.
